BURNING MAN-RAIN DELAY

RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Rave on -- at Wal-Mart? Burning Man is more like Soggy Man -- so the ravers were doing their thing at a Nevada Wal-Mart parking log. Burning Man is the annual weeklong rave in the Nevada desert. Just about anything goes. But this year rain turned the desert into a muddy mess. Organizers turned back the so-called Burners at the gate. Many camped out Monday night at a Wal-Mart parking lot in Reno. Yesterday, the weather cleared and the Burners were headed back to the desert. One Oakland, California, woman who calls herself "Driftwood," says they were trying to stay positive, because "positivity can raise everything up."

$1 MILLION CAR-FRAUD

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -- That million dollar car accident was no accident. Federal authorities say an East Texas man has admitted to deliberately driving his Bugatti Veyron into Gulf waters near Galveston. Prosecutors say Andy Lee House wanted to collect insurance on the car. He had insured his elegant ride for more than 2 million bucks. Now, he's pleaded guilty to wire fraud. A passing driver videoed the incident. Authorities say the video and House's claims of what had happened didn't match. He now faces up to 20 years.

SUBWAY BEDBUGS

NEW YORK (AP) -- Rats? Muggers? No, bedbugs! There's a new concern for New York City subway riders. NBC New York reports an N line train has been pulled out of service to be fumigated for bedbugs. A conductor reported being bitten by bedbugs in Brooklyn. The conductor was taken to a hospital for treatment. Bedbug sightings have been reported on at least five subway trains this month. A transit agency spokesman says they're responding aggressively to every report of bedbugs.

PURE MICHIGAN-TATTOOS

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan gets under your skin. Some Michiganders are so proud they're getting Pure Michigan tattoos. The Pure Michigan tourism campaign features a blue "M" logo. Michigan Economic Development spokeswoman Michelle Grinnell says a colleague spotted someone who had a tattoo with the blue M design. A Pure Michigan tattoo might be considered an unauthorized use of the Logo. But Grinnell tells MLive.com the state won't go after those showing a little Michigan pride on their bodies.
