DIERKS BENTLEY NAMED A FIT GUY BY MEN'S FITNESS MAGAZINE
UNDATED (AP) -- Dierks Bentley is getting attention for his body. Men's Fitness magazine has named him one of the "25 Fittest Guys in America." The issue hits stands next Monday. The magazine labels him a "road warrior." Bentley says he's hit every chain and independent gym across the country, adding: "I've even worked out in church basements!"
KELLIE PICKLER TO PERFORM NEW SONG AT THE ACM AWARDS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Kellie Pickler will unveil a new song when she performs at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Vegas this weekend. "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" is the first single from her upcoming album, due out later this year. Pickler says it's "a great song, with a positive message and it's different than any other song I've recorded before." The single will be available to country radio in June. Pickler is nominated for an ACM award for Top New Female. The ACM Awards air live on CBS on Sunday.
DWIGHT YOAKAM BREAKS RECORD ON `THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO'
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Dwight Yoakam's appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" later this week could become a trivia question one day. Yoakam's performance on Thursday marks his 24th appearance on the show, breaking the record for most musical performances by any artist. Yoakam's latest CD, "Dwight Sings Buck," is a musical tribute to his late great friend and mentor Buck Owens.
FRIENDS REMEMBER GOSPEL SINGER DOTTIE RAMBO
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. (AP) -- The tributes continue to pour in for gospel singer "Dottie" Rambo, who died Sunday when her tour bus ran off a road in southwest Missouri and struck an embankment. Hank Williams Junior says "Dottie was one of a kind." Amy Grant credits Rambo with introducing her to first husband Gary Chapman. Grant says, "Maybe it's not too far of a reach to say without Dottie, Gary and I would have never met and created our three beautiful children -- Matt, Millie and Sarah." Grant says she last saw Rambo a few years ago holding court during a Fourth of July cookout. She says, "I loved watching her and Vince `ooh' and `ahh' over each other."
COSTLY CONCERT
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Officials at East Tennessee State University have frozen the school's concert account after overspending on a Carrie Underwood show in March by more than $200,000. The university is blaming human error. A school administrator says someone misread a computer screen and thought there was more money available than there really was. The concert cost the school $534,000. It was free to students and faculty members.
MILEY CYRUS IS CHANGING
IRVINE Calif. (AP) -- Miley Cyrus is changing. People magazine reports Cyrus told a crowd, "We're all changing" during her performance Saturday at KIIS-FM's Wango Tango concert in Irvine, California. She also thanked the crowd for "helping me as I grow through this." Cyrus didn't directly address the controversy that swirled around her about a Vanity Fair photo which shows her wrapped in a sheet with her back exposed. Cyrus didn't address the situation during her performance. She also skipped the red carpet portion.
AMY GRANT SAYS SHE CAN'T BELIEVE SHE FOUND HER PASSION SO EARLY IN HER LIFE
NEW YORK (AP) -- Amy Grant says she can't believe she's been in the music business for 30 years. She says, "I'm baffled that somehow I landed on the path that I was going to pursue my whole life as a 16-year-old." This year marks the 20th anniversary of her "Lead Me On" album. A special anniversary edition which will be released in June.
