Garnett and Bryant top All-Defensive squad
NEW YORK (AP) -- The National Basketball Association has named its All-Defensive Team for the 2007-2008 season and at the top of the list are Boston's Kevin Garnett and L.A.'s Kobe Bryant. Each received 52 points in the voting of league coaches and 24 first-place votes. Denver's Marcus Camby and San Antonio's Bruce Bowen and Tim Duncan round out the starting five. The second team consists of Houston's Shane Battier , Chris Paul of New Orleans, Dwight Howard of Orlando, Detroit's Tayshaun Prince and Raja Bell of Phoenix.
Game 4 in Cleveland
CLEVELAND (AP) -- The lone playoff game in the NBA tonight is taking place in Cleveland, as the Cavaliers entertain the Boston Celtics. After dropping the first two games of the series in Boston, the Cavs blitzed the Celtics in Game Three 108-84. The loss means the Celtics, who had the best road record in the NBA during the regular season, have still not won a road playoff game this post season. Following this evening's game, the series shifts back to Boston for Game Five on Wednesday night. Should a sixth game be called for, it will be played in Cleveland on Friday.

DALLAS (AP) -- There's one Stanley Cup playoff game on the schedule tonight with Detroit skating at Dallas. This is the third game of the best-of-seven Western Conference final between the Red Wings and Stars. Detroit won the opening two games over the Motor City by the scores of 4-1 and 2-1. Game Four will take place in Dallas on Wednesday night.
Making up for rain delays...Double-headers in Pittsburgh, Cleveland..
UNDATED (AP) -- A check of the American League schedule today shows a doubleheader in Cleveland between the Indians and Blue Jays. The double-dip wasn't scheduled but came after yesterday's game was rained out. The game one pitching is slated to be the same as was announced for yesterday's game, Fausto Carmona for the Indians against A.J. Burnett. In the second game, the Indians are using red-hot Cliff Lee. He's won all six of his decisions this season and has a sterling 0.86 earned run average, the best in all of baseball. On the mound for the Blue Jays in game two will be Shaun Marcum. The rest of the American League slate will take place this evening with Boston playing at Minnesota, Tampa Bay playing host to New York, Seattle at Texas and Chicago in Anaheim against the Angels. Cming up tonight in the N.L, Washington plays in New York against the Mets, Cincinnati is home to Florida, San Diego plays the Cubs in Chicago, Milwaukee entertains St. Louis and Houston is at San Francisco.
Quake hits offices
BEIJING (AP) -- The offices of the Olympic organizers in Beijing, China, were rocked by an earthquake today. The center of the quake was some 930 miles away but buildings swayed in Beijing for more than two minutes. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the Olympic city. But in one county alone, nearly 9,000 people have been killed.
No death penalty for people charged with murder
MIAMI (AP) -- Prosecutors in Miami say they won't seek the death penalty against four people charged with murder in the case of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor if they are convicted. Miami-Dade County prosecutor Reid Rubin said in a letter to lawyers for the suspects that the four would face maximum sentences of life in prison if convicted. Taylor's alleged shooter was only 17 when the crime was committed in November. The 24-year-old Taylor was shot at his Miami-area home.
