Phil Everly, half of pioneer rock duo, dies at 74

LOS ANGELES, California - New information tonight about the passing of a country and rock music legend. Phil Everly, 1/2 of the famous Everly brothers, died today at his home in Burbank, California. Their songs and their incredible harmony made Don and Phil Everly household names. Phil's widow tells the LA Times her husband died of complications from COPD, a crippling lung disease. The Everly brothers were among the first 10 acts inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Phil Everly was 74.
