Nashville, TN -- Growing up in West Texas, Brian Milson saw both sides of bullying. I was bullied myself. I was a victim of rumor mills he says. But he also did some picking on himself. I was on the other side. Regretfully, I picked on some people too. Being on both sides of that topic, it hit home to me Milson says.
When Brian started coming to Nashville to record for his debut album, he discovered the song "Nothing Grows in Shadows" and knew instantly he wanted the song to be his debut single.
Everyone wants to make a career out of music but if you can jump onto something like this, a good cause, it makes it that much better. Milson teamed up with James Stroud, one of the biggest music producers in Nashville. Milson says in addition to wanting his first single to mean something , he wants 100 percent of the money to go to charity. I don't want a dime from this song. I want awareness and people to pay attention to it because 1 out of 4 kids are bullied and 85 percent of the time there is no intervention. Lets just make that 85 percent go down. If you see something going on, there is safety in numbers, find a way to stop it.
Milson hopes to release his debut album in about a year. Regardless of where that takes him, he says he is grateful that his music is making a difference. Having the privilege to make this my debut song and being part of something greater than myself is a truly awesome opportunity.
