A school district in Texas is looking into the idea of drug testing its students as a way to help steer kids away from drugs.
The program would go into effect for the 2014-2015 school year and it would be for 7th through 12th graders. Only students who are involved in extracurricular activities or those who park their cars on school property would be tested.
The Goliad Superintendent believes it is the best way to keep kids from doing drugs.
The test would be given by swabbing the student's mouth. There will be a meeting later this month for parents to voice their concerns and then there will be a vote.
