The Tennessee Vols football team will break out the gray uniforms for Saturday's match-up against Vanderbilt.
Coach Butch Jones made the announcement Tuesday. He said the team senior's voted to wear the alternate uniform for their last home game.
The "Smokey gray" color is a nod to the team's mascot.
Tennessee is probably hoping the uniforms bring them better luck this time. The last time they wore them was during the Oct. 5 game against the Georgia Bulldogs. The Vols lost in overtime 34-31.
Jones says the team talked about making the gray uniforms more standard in their football program. He said that “it’s just something with our
seniors, that they wanted to do, and I think it’s a reward for them.”
Tennessee takes on Vanderbilt Saturday at 7 PM EST at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.
