NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The federal department that screens bags and passengers gives Fox 17 a look behind the scenes, Friday at Nashville International Airport.

The TSA showed us their $32 million bag system, which a spokesperson says quickly scans checked luggage for explosives.

When it comes to your belongings, the department says there hasn't been a TSA theft at Nashville International since April of 2011.

The department also plants high-value items in bags to see if the agents take the bait.

"Since 2012, we've done about 3,6oo of these tests and only 13 employees have been dismissed as a result," said Mark Howell, TSA spokesperson.

The TSA says they have cameras at the security gates as well as the hidden rooms where agents screen checked bags.
