Country Ham Fetches $2 Million Dollars at Kentucky Country Breakfast

LOUISVILLE, KY.-- A country ham sold for a whopping $2 million dollars at the Kentucky Country Ham Breakfast and Auction.
The event, sponsored by the Kentucky Farm Bureau, is one of the main events at the Kentucky State Fair. The ham was purchased by Republic Bank and Hermitage Farms in conjunction with Bridgeman Foods. This is the seventh time Republic Bank has purchased the winning blue-ribbon ham.
Weighing just 15.89 pounds, Republic Bank paid $125,865 per pound.
The money will also be going towards good causes. The Kentucky Farm Bureau has helped raise over $8.85 million dollars for charity.
