NASHVILLE, Tenn.--According to Google's official blog, the web giant is considering Nashville among nine other metropolitan cities to receive it's Google Fiber network. Google says the network would deliver a gigabit internet which promises to build networks with speeds 100 times faster than current internet speeds most people use.
Google expects to announce which cities will get the service by the end of the year. The company will work with city leaders to determine if providing Google Fiber is possible. Factors such as housing density, infrastructure and topography will play a role in the selection process, as will each city's ability to handle such a large project.
