Watkins, 36, was decommissioned on January 27 and became the subject of investigations by both the police department’s Sex Crimes Unit and Office of Professional Accountability after the 40-year-old alleged victim, who was in a relationship with Watkins from 2008 to 2013, contacted the department on the night of January 26 expressing serious concerns about him.
The woman subsequently spoke with Sex Crimes detectives on a number of occasions, during which she alleged that Watkins had non-consensual sex with her on three occasions during the time they were seeing each other.
Watkins was arrested on June 13 on a three-count rape indictment that accuses Watkins of having non-consensual sex with the alleged victim once in 2012 and twice in 2013.
Watkins was released on a $100,000 bond.
