Nashville North Precinct detectives arrested Sandra Barnette Hardimon Monday afternoon after a grand jury indicted her with first-degree murder in connection to the May stabbing death of her husband, according to a department press release.
Clifton Hardimon, 54, died from multiple wounds inside a bedroom at the couple’s Sunnyview Drive home. Sandra Hardimon called police to report the stabbing at 9:08 p.m. on May 4. She subsequently told officers that she and her husband had been involved in an argument. The ensuing investigation, led by Detective Tim Codling, showed that Sandra Hardimon armed herself with a kitchen knife and engaged as the aggressor with Clifton Hardimon in the bedroom.
Sandra Hardimon has a violent history with prior convictions for attempted second-degree murder in 1999 and multiple assault counts in the 1980s and 90s.
