The National Insurance Crime Bureau reports full size 1994 Chevy Pickups were 2013's most stolen vehicle in the state of Tennessee.
Rounding out the top ten most-stolen cars in our state were the 1997 full size Ford pickup, 1996 Honda Accord, 1998 Honda Civic, 1999 Dodge full size pickups, 1998 small size Chevy pickup, 2006 Chevy Impala, 2013 Toyota Camry, 1994 GMC full size pickup and 1998 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee.
According to the DMV, older makes and models are more appealing to thieves because they are easier to steal given there are no smart key systems and car parts to older vehicles can be sold for more money. Adding a car alarm or other warning devices is still the best bet to keep your older model vehicle from being stolen.
