Steer Clear Traffic Alert:
BELLEVUE, Tenn. -- A sinkhole has closed a stretch of road in Bellevue, but that didn't stop a car from running into it.
Public Works says a drain pipe has collapsed at the 400 block of Hicks Road, between Post Creek Road and Still Spring Hollow. It is closed in both directions for a large sinkhole that developed around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Repairs are expected to take 2-3 weeks.
No injuries are reported in the 5:45 a.m. Thursday accident. The three occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene. Public Works says the barricade had been moved. A witness states that the occupants were visibly intoxicated.
