Strange Bond Hearing In Sumner County Decapitation Case

Gallatin, Tenn--A Sumner County man accused of cutting off the head of his father-in-law makes a scene in court Tuesday. And only Fox 17 News cameras were there when it all happened at Sandie Calvert's bond hearing.
The first degree murder suspect danced as he left a the court room in Gallatin. The Hendersonville man is accused of shooting his father-in-law Jim Hudgins last week in a rural part of Sumner County and then cutting his head off.
Calvert's dancing wasn't the only courtroom oddity. He got into a confrontation with the judge over his legal representation. Calvert told judge James Hunter he did not need an attorney. But after reminding Calvert he faces a first degree murder charge, the judge assigned Calvert a lawyer anyone.
Calvert remains in jail without bond.
