NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Tonight on FOX 17, meet Sumner County Sheriff's Office detective Lisa House. The 30-year veteran is battling not one, but two forms of cancer.
Last year, Detective House was diagnosed with a rare form of cervical cancer. While being scanned, doctors noticed a spot on her lung as well. The mass on her lung was removed in January, but Lisa House has endured four rounds of chemo, 27 radiation treatments and six surgeries to treat her cancers.
Det. House has also needed several units of blood and a platelet transfusion. In honor of her fight against cancer, the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in her honor on Monday, February 17th from 10am until 4pm at the Sumner County Emergency Services Facility.
