Thousands of Gallons of Diesel Fuel Spill in Ohio River

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- An 8,000 gallon Diesel spill is being dealt with this morning in the Ohio River.
The incident occurred after midnight Eastern time on Tuesday at the Duke Energy W.C. Beckjord Power Station. They have assumed responsibility for the clean-up.
The Coast Guard, Ohio and Kentucky state officials have responded, as well as local and federal officials. The cause of the spill is being investigated.
Concerns with municipal water intakes are also being investigated and addressed with the water companies.
Three vessels are assisting in the clean-up. Currently, 2,000 feet of oil containment boom is deployed.
