Vanderbilt edges Virginia 9-8, Commodores one win away from baseball national championship

OMAHA, Neb. (WZTV) -- Vanderbilt capitalized on a 9-run third inning, then hung on to beat Virginia in Game 1 of the College World Series Finals.

The final score was 9-8.

The Commodores are now one win away from the first men's national championship in school history.

Game 2 of this best-of-three series is Tuesday night at TD Ameritrade Park.
