MADISON, Tenn. -- An attempted robber at the Madison Home Depot didn't get the cash, but she bought a plant.
Metro police arrest 36-year-old Jamie Wakefield yesterday for the May 29 incident where she tried to hold up a clerk in the garden center of the business, according to the affidavit. Wakefield allegedly went to the register with a plant and $5 and asked the cashier if there is change for a $100 bill.
When the cashier responded yes, Wakefield, armed with a knife, reportedly said for her to give her all the 100s and 20s. The cashier responded by slamming the drawer shut and said, "no."
Wakefield took her plant, left the store and drove off from her car that was parked in a fire lane. She is in Davidson County Jail on $15,000 bond.
