Flu Watch
Three school districts in Middle Tennessee are closed due to students being sick. Schools in Van Buren, Monroe and Clay Counties will re-open Monday December 10. All the school districts report students are suffering from a number of illnesses, including the flu. Fox 17 News is working on a story tonight to help you battle the early flu season. The CDC says Tennessee is one of five states reporting a high number of flu cases. Make sure you watch Fox 17 News at 9 and 10 pm.

Flu Signs and Symptoms
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
FLU VS. COMMON COLD
Flu Symptoms (more intense than common cold):
- Fever
- Body aches
- Extreme tiredness
- Dry cough are more common and intense
- Chills
- HeadachesCommon
Cold Symptoms:
- Stuffy/runny nose
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Fever is rare
- Slight body aches
- Mild fatigue
