WBFF Fox 45 :: East Nashville Residents Divided Over Auto Parts Recycling Plant
LKQ wants to build a pull-a-part auto parts plant on Lucas Lane, but it requires a major rezoning. East Nashville residents are divided over the controversial rezoning proposal. Dozens of East Nashville residents showed up wearing blue tshirts in support of the company. LKQ wants 30 acres of property on Lucas Lane in East Nashville. Some residents say it will bring jobs, others say it's another blight to the area.

"Listen to the people who live in my district," says Metro Councilman Scott Davis. "They overwhelmingly support it. These are people that live, not own businesses, but live in my district. They want and need it and know we need jobs."

The rezoning proposal, originally rejected by the Planning Commission, passed on 2nd reading. It still has to pass on 3rd reading before LKQ could begin building.East Nashville Residents Divided Over Auto Parts Recycling Plant
