WZTV FOX17 :: Newsroom - Weekly Wellness - Generosity of Dental Office Restores Smiles
Hundreds of Antioch residents are smiling brighter thanks to the Cane Ridge Dentist Office. Friday they offered everything from fillings to extractions free of charge. For those without dental health coverage it was a welcome opportunity.

"We spread the word out in the community," says Dr. Anna Singh. "We talked to a couple of churches and had some radio ads."

Spreading the word didn't take long.

"My girlfriend told me about it," says patient Jai Nickelberry. "I had heard it on the radio. Today was my off day and everything fell into place so I came down."

The free dental day at Cane Ridge Dentist attracted hundreds.

"I got here at 6am," says patient Renee Hall. "I was #111. WHen they say it's free you go for it."

"I just liked it and it's fun but also hot out here and it's free!" says patient Jabbar Muhammad. "I think this is my first time going, so I'm kind of nervous."

Some people were in line as early as 10pm Thursday night.

"It kind of says what the economy's like," says Dr. Singh. "There are a lot of people that need a lot of dental needs and they don't have a lot of benefits that can help them."

Over 70 professionals volunteered to help with the free cleanings, fillings and extractions.

"The most important thing I see is everybody is so grateful," says Hygenist Whitney Colclough. "Thankful to be here and to get dental treatment done that they've needed for a while."

Doctors at Cane Ridge Dental Office estimate they saw over 300 patients giving away over $100,000 worth of free dentistry.

"A lot of people can't afford it and I'm one of them," says patient Carl Overton.

"I feel that's wonderful what they're doing," says patient Juan Mmonge. "I don't know who's paying, but anyway it's great."

It's a free dental day that's restoring lots of smiles. This is the 2nd year Cane Ridge Dentist Office has coordinated the free dentistry day. Doctors say this is their way of thanking the community that has helped to build their practice.Generosity of Dental Office Restores Smiles
