Meningitis Outbreak

Meningitis Outbreak
A 2nd Massachusetts pharmacy is shut down as a precaution in the Meningitis outbreak. Ameridose has agreed to voluntarily shut down while state and federal regulators investigate. That's because the same person who owns the New England Compounding Center where the tainted shots originated also owns Ameridose. Both are in Massachusetts. That state's Department of Health addressed the growing health crisis this evening.

"Ameridose, LLC proactively and voluntarily agreed to cease all manufacturing and compounding operations immediately," says Director of Health Care Safety and Quality for the Department of Public Health's Dr. Madeleine Biondolillo. "Ameridose and its partnering distributor Alanis Pharmaceuticals will cease distribution of all product manufactured and compounded by that company, or any of the companies under shared ownership for a time delineated period."

At this point, Massachusetts health officials say they have not found mold-tainted steroid injections at the 2nd pharmacy, but they are investigating. We'll have CONTINUING COVERAGE of the Meningitis outbreak. You'll get any overnight developments on TENNESSEE MORNINGS.
