Meningitis Outbreak
Joan Peay is among the survivors of this year's Meningitis outbreak. Like most patients, Peay got Meningitis from a tainted steroid injection. She tells us she's been in and out of the hospital 3 times and still suffers from memory problems. Peay says her health has improved dramatically in recent days and that's one thing she'll be thankful for while spending Christmas with her family.
"Just feel so happy to be home at this time and I don't care what I get for Christmas and I feel so blessed that's giving me a great feeling," says Peay.
Peay still takes medication twice a day. She's not able to drive while taking it, so that means no trips to the mall for Christmas shopping.
