Meningitis Outbreak
The death toll in the fungal meningitis outbreak has risen to seven according to officials with the Center for Disease Control.
No new deaths or cases have been reported in Tennessee. The Center for Disease Control has also confirmed new cases
in both Ohio and Minnesota. The number of total cases across the nine states
now sits at 64.
In other new developments a Kentucky woman is receiving treatment for the fungal meningitis here in Nashville.
Carolyn Bland, of Cadiz Kentucky checked into St. Thomas hospital Wednesday. Bland is the Director of Trigg County Senior Citizen Center.
There have no new deaths or cases reported in Tennessee as of Saturday afternoon. Of the nine states with reported infections Tennessee holds 29 individual cases with three reported deaths.
