Meningitis Outbreak
Federal health officials are reporting the number of cases of Fungal Meningitis has risen to 205. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the number of deaths stands at 15, with 6 of those in Tennessee. 14 states are now reporting cases. The latest is New Hampshire. The outbreak has been linked to steroid shots used for back pain made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts. The medicine has been recalled.
