Saving You Money
These days, you can do it all online.
Hi everybody. My name is Anissa..
Frugal Moms everywhere are posting videos to Youtube about the money they're saving by consigning online.
Calvin and Jackson got these awesome pajamas..
And what moms are raving most about is .. that they never have to leave home.
Just put it in the mailbox. You don't even have to go to the post office.
The website Thredup.com is a leader in this new age way of consigning. I spoke with a company rep via Skype.
Karen Fein / Thred Up Spokesperson
You order them you save a ton of money and they get shipped right to your door... So you don't have to drag your kids to the consignment store..
Thred Up sells only top name brands like Gymboree, Mini Boden and Children's Place... for 75 percent of what you'd pay new. And all the clothes, they say, are guaranteed stain free.
You do have to pay $6.95 for shipping, but that beats the cost of sales tax and the price of gas shopping all over town.
That came in the box along with these little dark pants.
And while you can save money buying, you can also make money selling.
Stacy Case says: If I wanted to box up a bunch of stuff I would traditionally bin up and take to a consignment store. How does that work?
Karen Fein says: You order this bag from our webstie. It comes to your door. You fill it with quality like new, gently used kids' clothing..
We cover shipping. You put it out on your doorstep... with the outgoing mail.
The typical seller gets back $25 TO $90 per bag.
This mom even posted a video of pointers on what sells well and what doesn't.
Blown out knees are not okay.. so not cool
You can find plenty of reviews and Youtube videos online about the quality of clothing from ThredUP.
Their policy is if you find a stain or wear and tear that they missed, you get to keep the flawed Freebie and they credit your account.
