Analysts are calling it the biggest one day price increase at the pump in a year and a half.
And it all comes during the Labor Day weekend as Isaac batters the Gulf Coast's oil and gas hub.
But some of what you pay at the pump is in your control.
It starts with driving habits. So called 'hot footing,' quick stops and starts.. as well as idling burn up a lot of gas.
And while you're watching your speed, also keep an eye on your RPM meter.
If this stays under two thousand, you'll burn less fuel.

It's a strain on the engine. You've got a belt to turn the ac
compressor. You know, if it's cool outside.. cut it off and rolL the
windows down and definitely save on some gas. You can actually watch it
w/ the ac on in a lot of cars it will use considerably a lot of gas
with the ac on.
Your tire pressure sticker is right inside the driver's side door.
Keeping tires properly inflated means there's less contact patch with the ground, so your engine runs more efficiently.
Cruise control and clean air filters will also help you save.
