Kelly Smith, a Gladeville Resident says: "If I decided to do my own business. I can make my own flyers. I can do my budget and everything in these programs so they're useful to know."
Smith is joining others in this computer literacy class.
And there are other classes like this Resume Strategies for Regular People class.
Instructor says, "You want to let people know what I did right off the bat.. hit them with a powerful action word."
Lovette Curry with Nashville Community Education explains, "Job loss is an unfortunate reality in today's economy and our resumes strategy class is really helping people to learn what they need to do to really stand out in the crowd."
Nashville Community Education offers free or low cost classes at Cohn Learning Center in West Nashville. There are even classes on personal finance and budgeting.
Jean Lambert, a North Nashville Resident is taking this class: "So now I'm an entrepreneur trying to make the best of it such as it is and trying to learn how to do it more successfully especially during the hard economic times."
And the options don't stop there. You think of the Nashville Public Library as a place to check out things, but it's also a place to jump start your career.
Lacie Madison a career coach at Nashville Public Library says, "We offer complimentary resume printing for anyone. We also have a crew on hand to be able to help them with their resumes look them over."
As great as all those options are, there's even one more. Goodwill! Yeah, the same place you buy low priced goods. Many stores have a career solutions branch inside for anyone who needs computer training, resume building and job searching help.
