In tonight's Saving You Money report--- In this age of watching every single penny, many of us are looking for fresh ways to save. Tonight three apps proven to pay.
Amy Harvey, who runs the money saving blog, "My Music City Mommy," gets a "kick" out of Shopkick. An app that pays you just for walking in a store.
Amy Harvey with MyMusicCityMommy.com says, "I went to Target today and one of my kicks offers just for walking in the door, I pulled this up and instantly grabbed 45 points just for walking in the door."
The points are called kicks and the app also kicks you for just scanning ads---- not buying them.
Harvey says, "They're just wanting you to look through their ad and at the end right there, it's going to unlock 60 kicks."
Coupon Sherpa is also a must have app. With this, there's no more keeping up with real retail coupons.. They're all stored here.
Harvey explains, "I went to Party City because it's Seuss week at my kids' school I went and found a costume for $19.99. I just jumped on here click Party City and they have a 40% off one item so I ended up getting that costume for $12."
What's more? It's location specific, able to pull up coupons for all stores in the mall or shopping center where you are.
My personal favorite? Keyring. One look at my keys and you'll see why.
Harvey explains, "I just have to say this is annoying and you don't have to carry these and these little scan cards."
Just download the app and, as Harvey says, "Add a card. You turn over and you scan that card that's all you have to do. This way you've got one smart app that holds all your cards and you're not carrying them around on your key chain."
