Police respond to the home of a Nashville super star.
A 24 year old man is arrested after allegedly climbing a fence surrounding Taylor Swift's Green Hills home. The suspect has a criminal past.
Taylor Swift values her security. It's why you'll find gates and walls surrounding her home on Harding Place.
Late Thursday night 24 year old Jacob Kulke allegedly entered the property.
"These people fantasize with this stuff, and they're dangerous," says security expert Buford Tune.
Buford Tune trains security and bodyguards, many of whom protect celebrities.
Taylor Swift is a mega star, and according to the criminal warrant, Jacob Kulke took a bus from Wisconsin to surprise swift on her birthday.
The suspect tells police after he arrived in Nashville, he took a cab to get to Taylor Swift's house.
Kulke was apprehended by Swift's security after allegedly scaling a gate and fence outside the home. The police report indicates he was carrying a small knife.
Kulke's attorney met with him for about an hour Friday.
"He is a very good, very true fan of hers. I think some of this stems from maybe a misunderstanding between Mr. Kulke and the security guard on the premises," says attorney Sean McKinney.
FOX 17 News has learned Kulke is wanted in Colorado.
He has also been convicted of battery, disorderly conduct, and drug possession.
According to documents, Kulke told Swift's security he'd been in contact with her on social media. He may have even tweeted about his visit to Nashville. A post reads, "Had to go see about a girl."
Kulke allegedly told Swift's security, he was dating her.
Belmont professor Sybril Bennett says social media can have a psychological effect.
"Clearly there is a false sense of intimacy that can be created through social media," says Bennett.
Kulke remains in jail on a $10,000 bond. He's awaiting a court appearance next week.
Taylor Swift was not at home last night. She was celebrating her birthday in England with her boyfriend, Harry Styles.
Colorado police say they intend to pursue extradition proceedings against Jacob Kulke, which is why he's also being held on a fugitive from justice warrant.
