HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. - FOX17 has learned Mindy McCready has been released from a mental health facility in Arkansas, just 2 days after she was involuntarily committed. A copy of the committal order shows McCready was considered in "danger of doing harm to herself or others". The singer's father says she has been bedridden since the reported suicide of her fiance 3 weeks ago. In a sworn statement to the court, Tim McCready says his daughter hasn't bathed in a week and was verbally abusive to her 6 year old son Zander. Zander's father, Billy McKnight, who live sin Florida, is asking a judge to give him full custody of the boy.
"He'll be in school every day," says McKnight. "He'll be around cousins. He'll be around people who love him. He'll have a normal life, and he's not getting that, and it's not fair."
Both of McCready's children are currently in state custody in Arkansas, where she has been living for the past year. McCready, whose hits include "Guys Do it All the Time" and "10,000 Angels", has been plagued with legal and substance abuse problems in recent years.
