Before the world was singing along to "Tonight, Tonight" and it's follow up hit, "I Like It Like That", we introduced you to Hot Chelle Rae when their debut song "I Like To Dance" was being played on Fox reality shows and their drummer Jamie wasn't even an adult!
"The best part is I'm not 17 anymore. I can actually get in the places we play now" laughs Jamie .
Now almost four years later, the Nashville natives are working on new music, for a new album.
"It's a great song with a lot of energy a great first song to come out with" says Jamie.
"Hung Up" has been playing on the radio for a few weeks and was officially launched on Tuesday. From the first few notes, it's easy to distinguish that the song is a Hot Chelle Rae tune, but still different than any single they've released before.
"We've released a lot of songs about having fun, forgetting about ex, but this is the first love song that is up-tempo" says Ryan.
Over a year ago "Hung Up" was written on a whim and then randomly brought in as the single.
"Somebody was at a piano and we were about to sit down in studio and write and we walked in this house and was like what if itI was like, "I'm hung", but then like, up on you" says Nash.
"We are always writing on road. It eventually just made it's way back around. It had been there, but we did other songs and then we were like what about that song hung up" says Ian.
It's one of several dozen they've written since their last album release, but they aren't done yet.
"We have 60 songs written but only love about 5. So gonna keep on writing" says Nash.
Meanwhile they hope "Hung Up" soars, so they can release their new album - no later than this summer.
"Cant' say much about album but it's gonna be exciting" says Ryan.
