LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Ten of the twenty guys left on American Idol sang
for their spot on the show. Included in the bunch was two Middle
Tennessee guys!
Paul Jolley sang a Keith Urban song. Very brave
considering Urban is a judge this year. Urban thanked Paul for singing
his song and told him he had a great voice with great range, but also
told him not to over compensate. That was the only criticism repeated by
the judges. It ended up being a split decision, which means idol
executive producer Jimmy Lovine had to step in and make the call. He
decided to advance Paul into the next phase of competition.
Jimmy
Smith also sang a Keith Urban song for the judges tonight. The only
real negative thing they had to say was that it was boring. Jimmy did
not advance on in the competition.
Another contestant that did
not advance, JDA. He gave what they called the most entertaining
performance of the night. They said he would fit right in for a Vegas
show, which is where they are taping this round of the competition, but
they did not advance him in the competition.
