TULLAHOMA, Tenn. - Dr. Phillip Patterson proudly displays pictures of his 6 children. His son Alan figures prominently. The first of 3 sons to attend a military academy. Alan knew in the 6th grade he wanted to join the Navy.
"He wanted to go to the Naval Academy and he wanted to fly Navy," says Dr. Patterson. "He had stickers on his school books, Fly Navy."
On Monday, Lt. Commander Alan Patterson was the instructor on board a Prowler aircraft when it crashed during a training mission 50 miles west of Spokane, Washington.
