Workers are completing installation of 288 solar panels on the roof.
They'll be capable of generating 100,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year.
City square owner Greg Smith say the panels should save between $20,000 and $30,000 annually on his utility bills.
Smith says, "The time for renewable energy and solar energy has come. There are several benefits are not often considered. It's a wonderful addition to the energy mix in the U.S. and the world."
City square will sell the power it products back to the TVA as part of the generation partners program.
