WBFF Fox 45 :: Living with MS Part 2
So, here was FOX17's Stacy Case, with a diagnosis of MS, and all the
symptoms had started right after she had 4 silver fillings replaced with
new silver fillings. Now, let's be clear. The MS Society publicly
states there is no link between silver amalgalm fillings and the
disease, but with this diagnosis, she was told "We'll consider putting
you on treatment WHEN the disease worsens." So, Case had nothing to lose
in making herself the lab rat. There she was, having 8 silver amalgalm
fillings, each containing 50% mercury, taken out, $10,000 worth of
elective dental work. How was she going to pay for it? Was this even
going to work? It was a total leap of faith. Case learned each silver
amalgalm filling, in addition to containing 50% mercury, also carries an
electrical charge, which dentists who belong to the International
Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology measure with special equipment.
In keeping with IAOMT guidelines, Dr. Ada Frazier also used an ionizer
to neutralize harmful mercury vapor released when she drilled.

"Any mercury ions that escape from your mouth will be picked up by the
electrons running across your body," says Frazier. "Mercury is a
neutrotoxin."

A blood biocompatibility test beforehand identified dental material compatible with her.

"I see these patients every day," says Dr. Frazier. "I hear their story
and I see how it physically affects them and it just breaks my heart.
For me, i has just been a journey. I actually started with myself."

Dr. Frazier describes the first time Case visited her office.

"Well, I thought you were a very, very sick young lady," says Dr. Frazier.

The biological dentist in Alabama and Dr. Michael Bernui with the Center
for Restorative Medicine in Hendersonville worked together to help her.
Bernui is a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, who left mainstream
medicine after 20 years to open up a practice where he can help patients
heal from the inside out.

"What we're being taught is leaving out a side of medicine and health that's enormous in its impact," says Dr. Bernui.

Dr. Bernui believes there are 7 categories of toxins that trigger
disease, heavy metal toxicity from things like silver fillings is just
one of them.

"Mercury tends to accumulate in the kidney and liver and the brain," says Dr. Bernui.

Case believes her brain, which is why she believes her own immune system
began attacking the insulation around the nerve fibers in her brain,
causing demyleniation, making her lose balance among other things.

"She really didn't accept it," says husband Chris Stout. "Which I think
has led us where we are today in terms of 'I've got MS'. You know what?
They say it can't be fixed. I say it can be fixed."

Not everyone who has silver fillings gets an auto immune disease like MS, but Dr. Bernui believes plenty do.

"How do you just get enough of the obstructions out of the way fast
enough and give those cells what they need to heal to function
optimally?" asks Dr. Bernui.

For Case it started with what's known as chelation, an intravenous treatment with 2 chelating agents.

"It's like putting these magnets in your system," says Dr. Bernui.
"Because remember I said they're stored in the tissue, and so it pulls
them out of the tissue so you can then excrete them. Most are excreted
through the kidney, through the urine."

How do we know it's working? Periodic tests measure the heavy metal Case excretes. So far, her tests show an elevated level.

"There's no way she would be doing as good as she is today had she not taken this other road," says Stout.

She's spent a couple of years, off and on, chelating, with kids in tow more often than not.

"I don't just know you as an MS patient," says nurse Tammy Sanders. "I
know your kids. We've established a relationship because of that. It's
very rewarding."

Rewarding, because Case keeps getting better. Today, her symptoms are
all but gone. She takes a myriad of vitamins, minerals and supplements
to continue the detoxification process and promote healing at the
cellular level, most not approved by the FDA.

"I want people to know there's hope," says Dr. Bernui.

Case does too, which is why she's sharing what has been a personal
crisis for her and her family. She is a different person physically than
she was 3 years ago when all of this started, and, once again, the MRI
doesn't lie. After 2 consecutive check ups, the original white spots she
affectionately calls her "Little Dipper" are still there, but no new
ones, highly unusual.

"Most people who have MS," says Vanderbilt Neurologist Dr. Harold Moses.
"They have 5, maybe 10% changes over time, usually year to year, so if
we don't see changes over time, it makes us wonder maybe if we don't
have the right diagnosis."

This is Case's 3rd annual MRI, taken in May. Her doctor will go over it
at their appointment in June. If she has 5 consecutive MRI's with no new
damage, she could essentially be undiagnosed. It's a miracle she believes in, for her and her family.

"We had people come into our lives that we had no idea," says Stout.
"Would lead us down the road she ended up going, but that's where they
were and we feel they were there because of the power of prayer and just
asking God to lead us where we need to go to do the best we can to
fight this."

Case thinks the key for her was catching it early, and if you're
wondering what her neurologist has to say about these alternative
therapies, and her success with them, you'll hear his take on her
journey in Part 3 of LIVING WITH MS, and she's put together a website
with some resources you might find helpful. You can get to it by
