So, thank goodness the name where you can find those artists remains the same.
On Lower Broadway in Nashville -- the Ernest Tubb Record Shop is open for business today, just as it's been for sixty years.
Surrounded by Nashville's historic honkey-tonks, the Ernest Tubb Record Shop is just as important a part of music city's lore.
Country music pioneer Ernest Tubb opened the shop in 1947, and moved it to its present-day location near the intersection of Broadway and 4th Avenue South in the 1950s.
Tubb, himself, was a singer-songwriter and Grand 'ol Opry regular for four decades, but many of his performances took place not on the Opry's stage, but, rather, a small stage located right inside his record shop.
The Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree was broadcast live each Saturday night from inside his record shop for years following the Grand 'ol Opry on radio stations across America.
While the live show is no longer in the store, the record shop offers plenty for the country music enthusiast.
Fans can dig up rare titles and boxed sets, and anyone who enjoys history will awe at the decades-old photographs and posters -- many of them autographed by the legends themselves; and modern-day musical legends still drop by the shop pretty often.
History and artistry come together every day at Ernest Tubb Record Shop.
