Hope Lodge

It's very name describes what a building gives to out of town cancer patients in town for treatment.

Hope lodge is a home away from home for those too far away to be with family and friends.

Not only are they not with family on this thanksgiving they are battling a deadly disease.

Tonight they were surprised with a feast and an opportunity to give thanks and eat turkey.

This meal is a 100% volunteer effort for the out of town cancer patients undergoing treatment staying at the american cancer society's hope lodge.

Hope lodge can house 41 cancer patients and their families for free.

And there's nearly always a waiting list.

Tom Daniel's home is 5 1/2 hours away in hiawassee georgia and with daily treatment required for a tumor in the base of his skull he and his wife can't go home.

This day is more about the food since mike osuch can't eat it anyway.

He's battling tongue and neck cancer.

But his wife and son are with him and that is priceless.

Nashville's Hope Lodge is the fourth largest among 23 American Cancer Society Hope Lodges across the nation.Hope Lodge
