Charlie Daniels Hits The Wildhorse Stage - Stacy McCloud
The legendary Grammy award winning star Charlie Daniels and band took the stage Thursday at the Wildhorse Saloon for a concert series supporting song writers. If you've ever wondered what's pushing Charlie Daniels into his 52nd year of performing, you're looking at it-a love for music, the stage and a room full of fans. Daniels says, "It's the way I choose to live my life and I enjoy it so I just keep it up."
Thursday night he was able to do what he loves for the people in the industry he feels are most overlooked.
Daniels says, "The lifeblood of the music industry is the songs. Without the songs there is now music industry."
And in the only place he's ever wanted to call home.
Daniels says, "This was the destination of my dreams. This is where I really wanted to live. Didn't wanna live in new york, LA. I wanted to live in Nashville."
Just a few months ago he was far from Music City fiddling on stage in Kuwait and Iraq. "It is a labor of love and something I enjoy being with the troops," says Daniels.
In between concerts, Daniels has been working on his third Christmas album, "Joy to the World-A Bluegrass Christmas." A lifetime of hard work that will be recognized this October.
The same month he turns 73 years old, Daniels will be inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame. Daniels says, "I am deeply honored by that and I'm not being modest when is say this , but there so many more people that deserve it more than I do. I'm just an old country boy gods been good to."
The Christmas CD will be out on October 12th.Charlie Daniels Hits The Wildhorse Stage - Stacy McCloud
