Trace Adkins Video Shoot-Stacy McCloud
Tribute is being paid to our service men and women and their families in a unique way. The music video shoot for a new Trace Adkins song was filmed in Nashville Wednesday and featured our local military as extras. The song "All I Ask For Anymore" is an emotional tune about a soldier being way from his family and that point of realization of what or who really matters when he lays his head down at night.
Around 100 extras, including members of Trace Adkins family, were part of the shoot that, for many, really hit home.
For the wives, sons, daughters, moms and dads behind the fence, they may be extras in a music video shoot. But what they're doing is anything but acting.
They're recreating a homecoming scene that is very real.
Vickie Sprinkles says, "When I was standing up there I was feeling it a little bit thinking about how it did feel when he came home in March. In the back of your mind you remember what it was like when he did come home and how excited it was. You wanna cry, scream!"
A contrast of emotion Trace Adkins hoped would come from his song and reflect in the music video, "All I Ask For Anymore." "It's somber and reflective but it's celebratory at the same time because celebrating these troops coming home."
At the same time, Adkins says he wanted the video to show respect for the warriors at home.
"Sometimes the families left behind get forgotten, the sacrifices they make, maybe this video will shine a little light on them."
Sarah Arenas says, "It just means so much to have the support of everybody when you have someone go away like that and come home."
The majority of extras are soldiers and their families, but there were a few actresses. "I thought that was appropriate too, that I would put my family in this video."
Trace's wife, children and grandbaby served as extras in the shoot, and in their own way can relate to what painful goodbyes are like. "Got home last night and today is the only day I get to spend with them, leave out tomorrow." A celebrity thank you that leaves these heroes, stars.
Adkins doesn't personally have family in the military. But when he arrived on set he says the first thing he did was say "Thank you for what you do."Trace Adkins Video Shoot-Stacy McCloud
