George Jones CD-Stacy McCloud
We've got some great news for George Jones fans.
The country legend just released some new music. The new CD hit shelves this week exclusively at Cracker Barrel to help them celebrate their 40th anniversary. Walk into any Cracker Barrel store across the nation and you'll see George Jones's latest work titled "A Collection of My Best Recollection." "You know we aren't as hot as we was back in the 50,60,70's so we have to do it for our fans."
On the album you'll find some of your favorite George Jones classics with a twist.
You also may be surprised at what he's done with other artist's songs. "I rocked up a Hank Williams Senior song, "I'm a Long Gone Daddy," put some moving beats in there."
Jones says one thing you won't find is "new country."
His sound remains the same. "We are in a different category than new country .. I'm still traditional country. I haven't figured out what they really are. You don't hear a steel or fiddle anymore .. and if you don't have a steel or fiddle in your band then your not country!" If you think you've heard the last of new songs by George Jones, think again!
This Grammy winning, Country Music Hall of Famer, refuses to slow down. "We are also working on another album, not sure who yet, myself, Kris Kristopherson, possibly Hank Junior and someone else, Kid Rock wants to do it .. so we are safe there. He'll do his thing I'll do mine!"
Until then, he hopes to satisfy the cravings of generations of fans. "I just hope folks take a liken to it"
It wasn't too long ago Jones released an album.
In 2008, he released his 60th studio album.
No word on when this new CD with other artists may be complete.George Jones CD-Stacy McCloud
