Tennessee is the worst state in the country when it comes to offering senior citizens options in long term care and last in how it spends it's money.

Of the 953-million dollars the state received last year in federal medicaid dollars almost all went to nursing home care.

Just one percent, not quite 11-million dollars, went to home and community based services.

According to a recent AARP study, most of us would rather be at home.

Lawmakers and the governor are feeling the fever on this issue and may be poised to help tennessee families make those difficult decisions a little easier.
