Marshall Co. Player Headed to Brewers (Dan Phillips)

Former Marshall County pitcher Seth Lintz was recently drafted in the second round by the Milwaukee Brewers.

But big bucks aren't the only thing that make the brew crew a great fit for this former tiger.

Fox 17's Dan Phillips has the story!

27 days ago, the Milwaukee Brewers selected Seth Lintz with the 53rd pick in the major league baseball draft.

They saw the same thing Marshall county opponents did a 90-plus mile-an-hour fastball and an 18-year-old with maturity beyond his years.

Seth Lintz: "it's a physical and mental, and financial life-changing experience that you can't just take lightly. It's not like getting a haircut or something like that. it's going to change you forever."

One thing that won't change is the fact that Lintz could pitch in front of friends and family.

After all, it's not far from Marshall county to Greer stadium.

Home of the Nashville Sounds---Milwaukee's triple a team that's an exciting and emotional possibility.

Seth Lintz: "I look forward to calling home and telling everybody 'yeah i'm going to be in my first start, and it's only going to be an hour away.'"

Connie Lintz: "i'll probably cry no doubt. I will."

Seth's contract would bring tears to most people's eyes but don't think for one second that he's all about the money ((Seth Lintz: "I don't see that as much as the opportunity to get on the mound in front of millions of people and play baseball. and live my dream. that's much more appealing than any amount of money would ever be."

As for Lintz's legacy?
It's pretty simple.

Seth Lintz: "to be the best baseball player that ever played the game."
Modest goals for a special player.

In Marshall county, Dan Phillips Fox 17 sports.
