This Week In Smashville
The 4-0 win in Dallas kicking off a five game in seven night stretch for the Preds. Nick Spaling started the scoring with a wrister past Keri Lehtonen- and Gabriel Bourque finished it with a goal in the third period. While the Preds say life away from home is tough, they also think it helps them in a way!
One of the guys they used to spend time with is Blake Geoffrion. The Predators traded the Brentwood native to the Montreal Canadiens last season. Now Geoffrion is facing a big decision about his future in hockey. This, after suffering a brutal hit last November. It happened in a minor league game against the appropriately named Syracuse Crunch. He was skating along the boards when he got hit and went flying! The hit and subsequent fall to the ice left him with a fractured skull. His father recently revealed that if it weren't for several life-saving decisions from doctors, his son may have died!
Today, Geoffrion informed the Canadiens that he's considering retirement. A sad story for the 25-year-old who appeared to have such a promising career ahead of him.
