Admitted Child Molester on the Run from the TBI

40 times Fox 17 has helped the TBI put a fugitive behind bars.
Tonight, it's hoped you can make that number 41, and this capture will make your children safer.
An admitted molester is on the run, and the TBI hopes one of you might have seen him.
The TBI says his are the fingerprints of a monster.
They belong to Russell Victor McCollum -- a man agents say groomed an 11-year-old boy he met through church -- and molested him on 4 seperate occasions.
Kristen Helm with the TBI says, "A while after the molestation began, the victim told his mother, the mother turned him in and he was of course arrested and charged with sexual battery of a child."
At the time of the assaults in 1998, McCollum was a student at David Lipscomb University. Authorities say two of the assaults happened on campus.
McCollum was arrested in his dorm room. He made a confession, made bond and promptly dropped off the radar.
Helm says the TBI has been looking for McCollum since 1999.
"We know he got a driver's license in Pennsylvania and that he has family there. However, we know he has friends and close personal contacts in the middle Tennessee area. So you never know if it's around a holiday he may be here visiting and maybe someone will see him and turn him in"
Russell McCollum was born in august of 1978. He has black hair and brown eyes. McCollum is about 6-feet tall and about 160 pounds. If you see him, call 1-800-tbi-find.
