Jealousy is a powerful motive for crime and police say it nearly resulted in a murder last week in Hendersonville.

Fox 17's Scott Couch has the details in tonight's TBI's Most Wanted.

Tracy Lee Langford has a long criminal history dating back to 1994.

Offenses include: Aggravated assault; theft and domestic assault.

And Hendersonville police say what he's wanted for now is more of the same.

Lt. James Lawson/Hendersonville Police: "Well he entered the residence about midnight through the front door that was unlocked and went straight toward the first victim, attacking him with a knife. He recieved a severe laceration to the head and a second laceration during the struggle afterwards."

It happened at a house on Cole Street in Hendersonville, at the home of a woman who says she's dated Langford off and on for 7-years.

Scott Couch/Fox 17 News: "The victim in this case, Thomas Earl Sneed was a bloody mess when he arrived here at the emergency room at Hendersonville Hospital. It took doctors 39-stitches to close his wounds."

Kristin Helm/TBI: "After he attacked this gentlemen with a knife, he actually threatened her with a knife as well telling her he was going to kill her. Since he lft there he has proceeded to call her and harass her and leave her harassing messages"

Tracy Lee Langford is wanted now for attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and harassment.

He was born in 1964, stands about 5'11 and 165 pounds.
