TBI Most Wanted - LaToya Boyd 4-19-08

Most of the people who wind up on TBI's most wanted list have long criminal histories.
Tonight's suspect is different -- she's a first-time offender.
Fox 17's Scott Couch reports.

"she hit first right here. Dad was standing right there. she hit right here and her bumper caught under here and had my wheel pinned here."

LaVonna McKendree is recalling a frightening day in July of 2007.
It's the day metro police say Latoya Boyd crashed this white Chevy into Mckendree's truck repeatedly.
Mckendree's father was pinned between the two vehicles as he tried to reposess the vehicle from the parking lot of this highrise on Edgehill Avenue.
Mckendree, her mother and two sons were in the pick-up at the time.

"that was the worst part is seeing my childrena nd my children screaming and I couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't get away from the car."

"McKendree says her father was pretty shaken up. She says they brought him here to metro General Hospital to let doctors check him out. There were no breaks but some nasty bruising"

Police say Latoya Boyd had never been in trouble before.
Witnesses say she got out of the car and slipped away before police arrived.
Witnesses picked Boyd out of a photo line up and the TBI believes she's still in the area.

"She's from Tennessee. She stays in Nashville and Memphis and has family. So she's probably somewhere in between"

Latoya Boyd was born in October of 1982.
She's 5'8" and about 2OO pounds.
She's wanted for 3 counts of aggravated assault and vandalism.
If you see her, call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
