Child Brings Crack Cocaine to School- Erika Lathon
Metro Police say a five year old boy showed up at Tom Joy Elementary School with baggies of marijuana, crack and powder cocaine.
The child who is developmentally challenged told investigators he got the drugs from his mother's bedroom.
When his mother, Arthea Burroughs tired to get her son out of school the principal placed the building on lock-down.
Police later arrested Burroughs at her apartment on Joseph Street.
She's charged with drug possession and intent to sell and child endangerment.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for the child's uncle, Tadarl Burroughs who shares the apartment.
The five year old as well as four other children have been removed from the home by the Department of Children's Services.
