Tennesseans Celebrate Cinco De Mayo - Cindy Carter
Tennesseans celebrated Cinco de Mayo and more Metro police officers patrolled local roads to make sure drunk drivers stayed off the road.
Metro police used grant money to keep sixteen extra officers on the job overnight.
Authorities say the good weather meant bars and restaurants were full.
Sergeant Jeff Keeter says, "Thats how we view within the police department, Cinco de Mayo: Its a holiday based on nothing but the pursuit of alcoholic pleasures."
Sergeant Keeter predicted officers would pick up at least 20 to 25 more people for D-U-I than they normally would on any given night.
